Shapeways is out of business

A lot of designers, like Jeff, are out of business with Shapeways right now. They ceased operations and have nobody intention at this point to restart. I've been talking to a couple of designers I know, and trying to contact Jeff, to see what they're being told and if they have a plan to move forward.
There are people who will print out there, but it's going to be a difficult transition. A lot of folks are talking about getting their own 3D printer (like I did). The challenge is to find a way to protect designers interests.
