Aft Turret Spray Shield 80' Elco's

Anyone have definitive information whether aft turret spray shields were left on as a matter of regulation in the South Pacific theater - were these easily deployed & removed? or, if not was it a crew preference?
Photos I've seen show mostly no spray shield but then some are there. Possible I'm not accessing enough photos though to make an accurate guess.
Decision time on to include it on my 1/24th model or not. I like the look certainly & it
will be a nice piece to fabricate.

The spray shield was only canvas, so it was discarded. The only time you really see them is in US prior to deployment, on early numbered 80’ ELCO boats.

John as Ted has mentioned many of the canvas protective shields around the port side turret were removed. However many were not removed in the war zone, still carrying them. Here are a few examples that I have
