I can not vouch for how current this advertisement is, nor it's authenticity, but here it is anyhow.

It’s in Mexico now?? Or are they just advertising it there?
Take care,

This is interesting. Navsource has it in Franklin LA as of 2010, nothing since, but if it went to Puerto Vallarta, it took the same trailer with it.

The craigslist ad just went up 7 days ago, but it is an anonymous response email.

I also looked at Baton Rouge and Lafayette LA craiglist sale sections, by "patrol torpedo" and "pt-8," and nothing comes up there. I will see if I can find anything over the weekend, when I have more time to scroll through google earth.

Out of curiosity, I searched patrol torpedo boat Puerto Vallarta and so far only yachtworld and boats.com have come up, neither listing PT-8.

(red flag alert) What is listed on yachtworld, interestingly, is PT-658 for $1,400,000.00. I can't tell how old or new the ad is, but it talks about an unrestored PT boat and shows pics of the restored 658, as well as its combat history. Will email this to Jerry as well, in case* it turns out not to be innocent coincidence.

In case the name/number changes or vanishes, what is listed right now is Mark Mowery 949-548-9999

I failed to mention that it looks like they're trying to use PT-658 as the before picture to sell a different boat. Sorry.

Getting back to PT-8, looks like the folks in Franklin, LA were trying to sell it as of 2 yrs ago.

Ok, so I found an ad pic with an expired link, but the pic had a phone number on it that came back to Tyler Dirt Haulers at 121 Evia Ln in Franklin, LA. (337)828-7856.

Google maps gave me a grainy pic of what could be the boat, off in the corner of an attached lot, but there is a sand mountain blocking street view, so I couldn't see the boat to ID it.

I called them this afternoon, asked if PT-8 was still for sale and they said it is, however they are aware of someone attempting to sell it "for them" in Puerto Vallarta. They said they haven't signed any forms or anything, but were approached by a gentleman offering to make the sale for them. When I mentioned that it appeared similar to a sell-out-from-under-you scam, they seemed unfazed. (shrug).

Regrettably, I got the impression that the call was running too long and did not take the opportunity to ask price.

I spoke to our President, Bill Weaver,
He told me that the guys on the Malahini in San Diego are needing to sell the ex PT657 (our sister boat), through this outfit in Newport Beach CA. The owner Mr Wilkerson coordinated this with us to be able to use the photo of PT658 as an example of what the 657 boat could look like again if it was to be purchased and restored. I have visited San Diego and have seen the Malahini when she was in use as a charter fishing boat based out of Harbor Island Marina near the San Diego Airport. The boat was re-engined with 2 Yanmar Diesel Engines and is now for sale. So yes, the ad is for real, sorry for my incorrect response earlier. Thanks Joe for the heads up!
