With all of the recent posts regarding Taboga I realized that I really don't know much about it. I started to dig around and the info is somewhat hard to come by. Fortunately, I was at the National Archives Monday and Tuesday adn was lucky to get into the still photos section. I found a few photos of teh US Naval Station, Taboga, CZ.
So as not to clutter the previous post, I'll post them here.

Well I don't know why the pictures are sideways.
FYI, the last two pictures, the civilian in the light suit is Mr. Ralph A. Bard, Assistant Secretary of the Navy while he was on an inspection tour of the Canal Zone.

Once again thank you Charlie. These are some beautifully clear shots.
I like where the sign "To Our Wives And Sweethearts" is located, right above the bar. [:-cheers-:]

Thank you kindly for locating, digitizing, and uploading these Taboga photos here!! This group is great!! A few of these photos verify my late-grandfathers photos from Taboga, too.
My grandfather was stationed at Taboga from 7/1943-3/1945, ultimately as a MoM3c.
Interestingly, one of my photos is 'censored' by having the unit logos and other photos whited-out. Your photos show the original, uncensored photos!
Please, anyone, feel free to add captions, comments, context, and the like to these photos. Thank you kindly! : )

Hi again,
These photos exceeded the size limit, so they are slightly sized down. As always, please add comments, context, names, etc. Enjoy!
The last two are of my Grandfather. I suspect the one with the rifle was taken at Taboga. Thanks again!
