I just received two PT Boat pins that are Pewter and 2-5/8 long. Got them from a Walmart on-line seller. They are $4.29 each + S & H ($3.49). They look pretty good. Plan to wear them when we take the 61 out to scale model boat meets. Lew

While doing research prior to beginning construction on a 1/20th Higgins Hellcat I came across a guy on e-bay selling reproductions of a pin given to all the Higgins employees. I found their choice of depicting the Hellcat somewhat unusual since only a single prototype was produced. Just checked e-bay, several different pins are still available including the Hellcat and Kennedy 109 pins.

I have my fathers tie clip from around 1943. Its in great condition and looks like that one. I don't know if its pewter looks more like sterling silver. He never wore it after the war but my mom saved it all those years.

The name of the company (through Walmart) I got the pins from is Military Best http://militarybest.com. They have loads of pins of just about every style out there, including patches and clothing. The quality of the ones I got were pretty good. They also have the PT boat pin in gold and the boat is a different style from the pewter pin. Lew

Lew;
I actually found one that is a gold 77' ELCO, it is a tie clip. It had 109 on it , so Its a Kennedy election tie clip, but I had the 109 filled and the tie clip replated with 18 carat gold in Panama, so it looks great. It reminded me of the originals like the RON 2 and 3(2) guys recieved, such as the one Frank has, that originally belonged to RON 3(2) Squadron Commander, CDR Alan "Monty" Montgomery
Here is what it looked like went I bought it off ebay:

I am currently in Italy so , when I get home I will post new photos.
Take care,
