ALL;
Here are some copies of ETOUSA's letters. These letters are historical notes for the RON 24 Officer in question. Disregard notes, the only thing that helps with identification is that he mentions PT 106(I am not quite sure if he is saying PT 106 was his boat, nicknamed "The Blue Bitch" , which was originally PT 24's nickname...another mystery) being in RON 24, that puts this letter in a time frame of 15 Feb 1945-end of war. 15 Feb was the date PT 106 was transferred from RON 5 to RON 24. Also another item that narrows the time frame is the mention of "Davis Raiders" a collection of RON 24 guys that performed their own guerrilla raids.

Can anyone, I.D. the signature by comparing it to a list of RON 24 officers during 1945? This is around the time Ed Hoagland was CO and Alex Wells was XO of RON 24. When he took command, Hoagland, he decided to call the Squadron "The Sea Hawks", named after the 1940 Errol Flynn movie. All boats were repainted and renamed. PT 106 was named "Devil Hawk". Also mentioned in the letter was PT 332 "Black Hawk" and PT 343 "Night Hawk".(also look at RON 24 emblem).
