I just finished watching McHale's Navy season one episode six :" Operation Wedding Party", original air date: 15 November 1962, and I never knew they did this, but in this episode they threw in some REAL PT Boat film footage!! They used film footage of RON 2 squadron maneuvers 1942 and in the middle of the clip, "PT 8" aka: 77' Elco PT 39, crosses the wake of the boat the film crew is on! They darkened the film because they were supposed to be on "night" training maneuvers. Nice!

p.s. This is the first time in my 45 years of watching this show, that I remember seeing actual PT Boat footage used on the show.
