http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=3334

Hi Dick,
I found this from the Denver Film Society Webpage, and it got me wondering, was that movie supposed to be available for sale at some point in the near future? Could you point me to the right persdon to contact if I was interested in purchasing this Video? I thought it was going to be made available on the PT Boats Inc Website after it premiered? Thanks for answering my questions. Jerry

The Lost Reunions
2012, 90 Minute Running Time
Genre/Subjects: Documentary, War

Premieres at the Denver FilmCenter/Colfax 4:30 pm May 28th!

Danny Diaz and a small group of filmmakers from Denver set out over three years ago to document the stories of the PT Boats from WWII, and also to gather the personal experiences of the men themselves. Grass roots fund raising enabled them to make several trips across the country. Their last journey to Rhode Island was to attend the 46th and final reunion that the PT Boaters will ever hold.

The Lost Reunions documentary focuses on the PT Boaters of World War II and offers the unique experience of hearing the history straight from the veterans themselves. 60,000 Navy men served on PT Boats, bravely seeking out and destroying enemy ships. They played a vital role in both the Pacific and European theaters. Only a handful of these men remain with us today.

Making this documentary unique to it’s own, we focus on the human aspect of this war, the coming home stories, the love stories, the friendships, and the losses. We talk about the in between days of the war, not the typical historic turning points we’ve come to know.

Many of the PT Boaters have stayed in touch over the decades through a unique organization, PT Boats, Inc. This organization was founded by veteran "Boats" Newberry, with the intent of preserving the legacy of the PT Boaters and has, over the years, come to mean much more to the men and their families.

With the help of PT Boats, Inc. Danny and his crew were able to digitize archived film from World War II, some of it never before seen. They also conducted in depth interviews of 65 PT Boaters and their proud wives and children as they gathered for their final reunion.

The resulting film is a testament to The Greatest Generation. Their firsthand experiences and the lessons that they learned come to life in a way that exposes their bravery, their humanity and the strength and pride of the American spirit. The Lost Reunions documentary is truly the last untold story of World War II.

Hey Jerry, what ever happened to all the footage that was shot by the film crew that was interviewing the vets from the 658 the week we were up there for the Rose Festival 2 years ago?

Good question Roy! I have no idea. I will look into that. Do you remember what their group was called? Jerry

No I don't. I just remember that pushy lady and the grumpy guy that was doing the interviews and kept coming outside tell everybody to be quiet. At one point the lady came over to me and asked who I was filming for. I told her it was just tape for myself and her reply was "was not with a camera like that, so who are you really filming for". I just gave her a card at which point she said she didn't have any of her's with her. Ha, then they proceeded to invited themselves on board for the trip.

Hi Roy,
I remember now, that was a local historian Sandy Carter, who was putting together a tape to record the "Living History" of the WW2 veterans and crew involved with the restoration of PT658. She is almost done with her editing and book, but we have not been recently updated on when her project will be completed. She even interviewed a couple of the younger crew including me! I did not realize they were so rude to you, for that I apologize. I will let you know if I hear anything in case you are interested in a copy. Jerry

I had spoken to Danny at the Boston Film festival where he presented me and Ray Wilbur a copy of the DVD. Last I heard, he was supposed to make it available for sale. I never heard anything after that. This was supposed to be made available at PT BOATS INC., but sorry this is all I had heard from Danny in Boston.

I live in Denver and can do a little research for the group - I just called Danny's number and left a message asking him to let me know the current status and availability and cost of the DVD's. I'll post his answer as soon as I hear.

Sorry I misread what you wrote 1 hour and 13 minutes is 73 minutes that sounds about right. I missed the "1 hr" part!
