Man Cave Make Over
http://www.ptboatforum.com/cgi-bin/MB2/netboardr.cgi?cid=101&fid=102&tid=2380
Well my modeling efforts have been on hold as I've been completing my workshop makeover. Not to be confused with my garage workshop, this is for modeling only. I wanted to make something that would last me until the end which I hope is a long long time to come.
I included a lot of storage and a paint rack.

I built an assembly table/cart with deep full extension drawers to hold raw material in.

I included a HDTV so I can watch TV, surf the web, etc. Very handy for putting up reference photos, etc.

You'll notice the 1/48 PT PT-105 on the assembly cart. It's time to get back to building!

Thanks Drew, I'm very pleased with it. I worked on it last night for our ship club project and it was a very comfortable space to work in. I'm excited about finishing my PT-105 model now!

Stan does the majority of my work, and has for years. He is a a dear friend, who gives me incredible deals on what he builds. He has been very busy of late, and has secured some large jobs, so it's always a good thing for me to keep the doors open for other's to build some things for me. Alex Johnson has done PT-41 for me a few years back, and as you know Frank Ryczek, Alex and Stan built my PT-374 Memorial project. For me everything is price, and to date no one can match Stan's prices that he gives me. When the time comes, we can certainly talk, if you are not too busy.

Very nice David, looks like excellent craftsmanship. You should really enjoy working from there. Is that silver hose an exhaust duct for dust / fumes?

Hi Jeff,
Yes, the silver hose is for my spray booth which takes the paint fumes outside the house. I've had the booth a long time. It's big, white, ugly, but pretty functional. I'm going to make a new one this spring that will work better for my space. I'll post a "moved in" picture. Suddenly it's getting much busier in my little space!

I really like the overhead lighting, also. Should give a nice even spread from the multiple sources.

Dave;
The workshop looks great! I see you can remain totally dialed in with us too, since you have the PT Boat Message Board up on both screens, and a in-shop phone for real-time info, and to stay in "PT fighting" shape even a NordicTrack Pro Skier ! Awesome!
ENJOY!
Take care,
