Hello,
I just read The Forgotten Ship by Joseph E. Bloomer. My father, Dr. Sam Callaway, who has now died, served on the Mobjack as a doctor. He shipped out of San Diego and returned under the Golden Gate. He always made it sound like he spent 2 years just floating around the Pacific. It is good to know what it really was like.
