Among cargo on sunk cargo Vessel "Andrew G. Curtin" 26 Jan 1944 are
2 "PT boats"

One is identited as PCT-39

Can someone explain....were these PTC made for Allies?

PTC-39 was a 63' Model 293 patrol craft based on the Miami Shipbuilding design for a 63' Aviation Rescue Boat. It and sister PTC-38 were being shipped to Russia aboard ANDREW G. CURTIN when that ship was sunk. This is PTC-62, a sister:
