Hello,
I am starting this thread to post about US Torpedo Boat 537. “Little Tomato”
My grandpa Henry Mac Sexton served on this boat during WWI (1943-1946). He kept a scrap book of photos with names of the crew and boat, which I have been researching and restoring the photos. (will post and update shortly)
I grew up hearing stories of the war and watching MASH with my grandpa. His TV room was outside my bedroom, so when I was supposed to be in bed I was actually watching MASH through the barley open door. All the Navy pride and symbols around the house I didn’t pay much attention too at a young age. Now that I’m older with kids, I find a connection to the past through the things he left behind.
Thanks for any info and help! Hope the right people find the same thing I did…

Lonnie;
Welcome Aboard!! If you would, please post some photos of PT 537! Sorry, I don't have any photos of PT 537, I only have a color photo of PT 536 and a color photo PT 542 RON 37.
Take care,

Welcome to our Forum, it would be great if you could scan the photos you have so we might see them. You can always E Mail me and scan them to me and we could put them up. I have several photos of 500 series boats but this one is not one of them.................

Hello Everyone. Thank you for the welcome.
Here is a couple pictures of the album. I have all these scanned in and working the exposure to clean them up. Give me a little bit. I will have them all in singles with names.
There are some graphic photos in the album. I will remove any by request.
I am sure there is a photo of every man on PT 537 and some...

Hello Ted,
RON 37, That's what my Dad said. RON 37 PT 537.
How many boats were in a RON? I'm sorry I don't really know the ranks and groups.
Thanks for joining in.
I will get to searching for your photos. Sorry I am not used to this forum format.

Lonnie;
There were usually 12 boats in each Squadron, however, a few had more and a few had less. RON 37 had 12, PT 533-PT 544.
Take care,
