As some of you remember, I had brought my wooden PT Boat Ride On Toy to Stan Pienkowski to have redone. I had dropped this off to his home back in July 2011. With Stan's work load I knew it was going to be sometime before it was done. I am happy to say I picked her up, and the job he did was fantastic. She looked like she did in the day during the war, maybe better. I have enclosed some photo's for you to see. It was well worth the wait, and I can now take some photos with my two Grandchildren on the toy, and pass it down to them and future generations. Thanks so much Stan, my friend............

I am having a play date for all my PT BOAT BUDDIES on July 4th Holiday. Will gets to ride it first because he is the oldest, Ha, Ha. Yes Jerry Stan does wonderful work, it was worth the wait...............

That's what I love about you Will, your always looking out for my best interest. Just for that, you get to ride last and you can't use the machine gun sound.

Do you have a "Before" photo?
I don't know about the others, but I am interested in the history of this toy. Can you tell us more about this toy?

The toy was made during WWII by a Company called MILL TOYS. They also made a Jeep, Battleship, Anti Tank Gun, and I think a Tank. I had a Life Magazine that showed them but for the Life of me ( no pun intended) I can't find. the darn thing. Someone here sent me a photo from Life, but I do not remember who it was. If you want to see before photos, click on search and put in PT BOAT RIDE ON TOY, and my post of 2011 shows some before shots.
I love history such as this, and to have it look the way it did during the War years is exciting for me. IT LOOKS GREAT thanks to Stan. If we meet, I will let you ride it, but not if Will is there, because he will hog it.

Ok guys, here is a most different project for me. My original PT Boat ride on toy went to Stan Pienkowski's house for a complete restoration job. I had always wanted to get this done, but with all the other projects I seem to come up with, and my PT-109 still in dry-dock at Stan's, the toy always seemed to come last. You will notice one of the photos contains an original photo of the toy in it's heyday. I was lucky to come across this on Ebay. Well, Stan has promised she might be done before Christmas, so here are the first of the photo's. Here we go again. By the way, as you recall PT-109, jumped on by our two Kamikaze Cats, is coming along, with just about all topside fixes completed. You should note, that Stan and I dropped it two weeks while inspecting the water line and props. This broke off the smoke generator, and rear flag supports, not to mention the two rear torpedo flasks. The course of the 109 continues...........

Hey Frank, the black & white photo of the Mini-PT Scooter that you posted is a lot sharper and clearer than the one used in the Life Magazine article of 28 Sep 1942 that told about the new Mili-Toys.
One thing that made an impression on me was that the article mentioned: ...these are made of ‘Non-Priority Materials’…
Here are some more details that I'd forwarded to you on 11/24/11 - for anyone that is interested... I hope whoever reads this is REALLY interested, cause this borders on over-kill...
But, hey... when someone asks you questions, then you should have all the answers Frank!
